Pune, August 27, 2008: Odyssey, India's premier leisure store opened its 3rd store in Pune and the 33rd store in the chain, today. The store located at Kakade Centre Port next to E-square is spread over 16,000 sft, and is the largest leisure store in the city of Pune. The store was inaugurated by Dr Narendra Jhadav, Vice Chancellor - University of Pune.
Ashwin TS, Managing Director, Odyssey India Ltd. said, 'With the launch of this store in Kakade Mall, Odyssey has taken the leisure quotient several notches up for the consumers of Pune. We provide an undisturbed shopping experience, cozy ambience and a wide product range to cater to our customers needs'
He also added that, 'This store is a part of our expansion in the west region with at least 20 more stores in Mumbai and Pune across regular and express formats. Our 2nd store in Mumbai will be launched in the 2nd week of Sept. We have recently launched an express format store inside Wipro facility located in Hinjewadi'
The Pune store stocks an exhaustive range of books on subjects ranging from popular fiction, non-fiction, computing, self-help, health & fitness, business & management, food & drink, travel, apart from coffee table books in genre of art & architecture, leisure etc. In all one can find over 40,000 book titles at this store.
'Odyssey is positioned as a neighborhood leisure store, hence the store will stock a wide range of regional merchandise in books & music keeping in with the tastes of the native consumer', added Ashwin.
There is a large section for stationery with brands like Sheaffer, Cross, Parker, Pentel, and ITC Expressions on display. A large collection of Music titles from international to indi-pop and in Movies from classics to contemporary is part of the offering. The store also stocks the Apple iPod, Worldspace and other digital accessories. The store is also a gamer's paradise as it stocks an extensive range of multimedia titles and accessories including PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox 360 gaming consoles.
There are a lot of products targeted at the specific needs of kids & young adult's like activity books, young fiction, reference books, young classics, board games, puzzles, activity games, soft toys, scale models, action figures and branded toys from Mattel, and Funskool. Besides, Strollers, Walkers, Ride-on Bikes, high chairs and cycle prams are also being introduced.
The store also has a Candy Corner with candies from all over the world in different shapes, sizes & flavors. Customers can buy these in lots of 50gms each.
Gifts including decoratives, figurines, crockery, glassware, leather accessories, fragrance, Paris Bijoux jewellery, luxury tableware like FnS and bone china can also be found at this store.

Odyssey India Ltd's recent foray into the optical eyewear category is extended to this store in the form of The Eyewear Express which offers eyewear solution to the consumers in the form of designer sunglasses. The store has a designated play area and seating area in books section where customers can browse a book at their own pace before buying.
